As a child, my parents took me and my sister to Greece. This already started when I was only 6 months old and travelled two days and a half in a cradle in the train. Until this moment, Greece for me is a country of my memory, peaceful, with friendly people, blue skies, many almost empty islands, beautiful archipelago... I have been back once in 1991, unexpectedly because the Gulf War changed my original plans, and i found a country beyond recognition.
What I always liked in Greece, is that in most cases every trip you make is a travel in itself. If you want to go from one island to the other, you have to go by boat. And boats became my favourite transportation means. The slowness of moving, seeing islands floating in the horizon, the hassle upon arrival, when mostly small boats come to meet the bigger ones because they cannot dock in the harbour.
Greece is also the country where I developed my sense of travelling. It is a country with a different language from mine, a different character set, with a history that is both old and inspiring. In short, Greece has it all. Or, at least, the Greece as I knew it as a child. I must say that I am almost afraid to go back...
