It might be cliché to pick New York when writing about the U.S.A. But for me every visit to New York is special. Before every visit I have a lot of plans, of which only a few can be realized. During every visit, I realize how much energy the city vibrates, how much it gives to me, how incredibly much there is to see and enjoy. And after every visit I realize how much I have given, how much I have walked, how much there still remains to be seen and done. And after every visit, I already look forward to the next.
Among all the tourist attractions on Manhattan, I would like to name two. First, visiting the Cloisters in the north of the island. Especially walking from the Cloisters towards the South, gives views over Manhattan which are completely unexpected. Actually, it is hard to believe one really is on Manhattan island!
Secondly, Central Park remains a must. I especially love running there together with the many others, or walking around, wondering how the city can afford not to sell the enormous lands of this park to project developers. And of course, admiring also the skyline of the city.
